Granite is the most popular material used to produce fireplace hearths. Shiny, affordable, robust, non-porous and easy to maintain it's easy to see why granite hearths are a popular choice.

We have a large selection of granite hearths, available in sizes from 30''up to 60'' wide. The outer edges can be boxed and lipped meaning the top piece overhands by 10mm creating a lip or boxed-flush so that the sides are completely flat. We can also make hearths to size if required.

These particular hearths are slabbed specifically for solid fuel fires. Slabbing means the hearth is cut into smaller pieces then re-attached together with a heat plate underneath. The heat plates allows for expansion when the hearth heats up so it doesn't crack. You can tell when a hearth has been slabbed as there will be grout lines where the hearth has been cut into sections.
