CAST IRON HOB GRATES
Cast iron hobs grates were first used in the Georgian period as a means of heating up water and cooking. Today 'hob grates' are quite often known as 'register grates'. We have a wide range of hob grates available in a range of different finishes and designs ranging from the Georgian period right up to the Edwardian period. After the Edwardian period the use of hob grates began as the functionality of heating and cooking was superseded by more current technology. Today hob grates are used more for decorative purposes and will fit perfectly in period houses.
