We stock an impressive range of Original and Reproduction tiles for fireplaces and hearths. Please note: Original tiles are only available at Levenshulme Showrooms
We supply direct prints or hand painted tube lined tiles.
'Our tile range are reproduced from Victorian and Edwardian originals. The decoration of these tiles uses up to 18 separate colours in each design to make the tiles indistinguishable from the hand coloured originals.
Direct Print Tiles
The next 3 sets of tiles are selected from the designs of Alphonse Mucha (1860-1939), the leading artist of the art nouveau movement in Paris. To preserve the symmetry of the fireplace, there are mirror images of the original paintings. The background colour to the decoration is Victorian glaze.
Tubelined Hand Painted Tiles:
This is a method of decorating glazed tiled and used extensively in the Arts and Crafts art nouveau periods. It requires a high degree off skill as the outline of each design is piped by hand onto each tile.
